In partnership with Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), the SMSRC is offering a peer support program for those that have been affected by sexual misconduct and/or military sexual trauma (MST). The Sober Sports program offers sports for recovering alumni. These activities, such as floor hockey, are designed so that people in recovery can reconnect with other alumni, be physically active, and have fun all at the same time.

Our alumni are welcome to take advantage of free refresher stays anytime to reconnect, regroup, and reground with staff and peers. The Refresher Weekend Program participants are encouraged to attend large group activities and share their stories as a way of giving back.
The Aulmni Support Meetings offers weekly and bi-weekly support meetings are available across Canada as a way to connect alumni with one another and let them re-experience the power of the peer group. These meetings are facilitated by counsellors and recovery coaches.
Throughout the year, our Alumni Manager travels to major cities in Canada to host complimentary dinners for alumni in that area.
The Recovery Coaching offers coaching in over a dozen Canadian cities to help alumni stay active and engaged in their personal recovery. Returning home after treatment can be difficult for many clients and we want to be there for them.
The Occupational Trauma Program is designed for men requiring intensive therapy for trauma(s) sustained on the job as first responders, military personnel, and veterans. This program involves intensive medical, psychiatric, and psychological care 1-on-1 with counsellors and in groups. Therapies in our trauma program are designed to help you build self regulation skills to deal with dissociation, anxiety, depression, anger, and other symptoms of trauma. These therapies are also designed to help you make sense of your suffering and pain so you can go forward in pursuit of a meaningful life.
At The Stable Grounds Inc., we offer a unique range of evidence based therapeutic options exclusive to first responders and public safety officers who are suffering from posttraumatic stress injury, anxiety, depression, substance misuse, and more. Our treatments utilize the benefits of residential and day therapy in supporting our guests’ emotional and mental well-being.
Service Member’s Keep is a mental health retreat designed to aid in the recovery of essential service members by providing a safe and secure place for them to rest when struggling with the diversity of posttraumatic stress disorder.
Buddy Check Coffee is a Veteran run peer program offering comradeship in a relaxed environment, encouraging Veterans to network and share experiences and stories… while sipping coffee. Led by the Legion’s Operational Stress Injury Special Section (Legion OSI) and hosted by Legion members, Buddy Check Coffee is helping Veterans in their community connect and support each other.
