Research repositories on military, Veteran and Family well-being
Many organizations and institutions have created collections (or repositories) that bring together research on a given topic into one place. This webpage is a starting point for exploring available research from around the world related to the well-being of military and Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) members, Veterans, and their Families. The repositories included here host an array of materials, including peer-reviewed journal articles, government reports, policy briefs and conference presentations on topics such as mental health, Family dynamics, housing, justice involvement and health care access.

Centre for Evidence for the Armed Forces Community repository
This repository, hosted by the United Kingdom’s Centre for Evidence for the Armed Forces Community, compiles research across all disciplines, with a focus on improving access to information about military-connected populations in Canada and internationally. Available in English only. You will be redirected to an external website where you will be able to view results, read entries and download materials as needed.
National Centre for PTSD – PTSDpubs
PTSDpubs is a free, specialized database of global research on posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and trauma. It offers unique search tools, including a trauma-specific thesaurus and the ability to search by symptoms, diagnosis or psychological tests. It provides access to citations and abstracts of journal articles, books, dissertations and reports from across multiple disciplines. Available in a variety of languages, including English and French.
Open Science Framework
Open Science Framework is a free platform researchers use to share research at all stages. While not military- or Veteran-specific, it includes studies, data, preprints (articles before they are released), data and protocols (study plans) across all disciplines. It is useful for exploring emerging or in-progress work. Available in English only.
Google Scholar
Google Scholar is a free search engine you can use to find academic research, including peer-reviewed journal articles, dissertations and theses, books and reports. It covers all disciplines and topics. It is not military- or Veteran-specific, but it can be searched by keyword to find military and Veteran research across every discipline and from around the world. Available in a variety of languages, including English and French.
